BioThane

BioThane Dog Collar

For a beginner, 25 mm BioThane is a fine width to work with for the dog collar. We used a new pattern of our UV Printed BioThane collection, only available at Paracord.eu! Of course you can choose other widths, but don't forget to adjust the dimensions of the accessories you would like to buy accordingly.

BioThane Dog Leash

You can use either 16 mm BioThane or 19 mm BioThane for the dog leash. In this shopping list, 19 mm BioThane has been chosen. Should you prefer to use 16 mm, please adjust your accessories accordingly. Want a long dog leash? Feel free to add more meters to your shopping basket.

Chicago Screws

Chicago Screws are used to attach multiple layers of BioThane together. With Chicago Screws, you attach multiple layers of BioThane to each other. Depending on how many pieces of BioThane you want to attach to each other, choose the right Chicago Screw. One piece of Beta BioThane has a thickness of 2.5 mm. So two layers of Beta BioThane are a total of 5 mm thick. The length of the Chicago Screw should be equal to the thickness of the BioThane layers. So in this case, you need a Chicago Screw with a length of 5 mm. To attach a Chicago Screw, you need a screwdriver. You can also attach BioThane with rivets, but you need more tools for that, so it costs more money.

Loctite 243 - Screwthread lock Agent 5 ml

Chicago Screws are best tightened with a drop of Loctite. For beginners, we recommend the Loctite 243 - Screwthread lock Agent 5 ml. This, unlike the HENKEL Loctite 401- Instant Adhesive Glue, does not dry too quickly, allowing you to easily screw the screws together.

Round Drive Leather Punch

With the 5 mm Drive Leather Punch, you can easily make holes in the BioThane for the Chicago Screws. The bar of the deluxe version of the Chicago Screw (e.g. the stainless steel or messing ones) is a bit smaller than the other variants. So for this you can also use a 3.5 mm or a 4 mm Drive Leather Punch. You'd rather make the holes too big than too small. Otherwise the BioThane will curl because it will be too tight.

Please note that the Drive Leather Punch is officially a leather tool. BioThane is stiffer than leather, so the tools will wear out faster.

Poly Cutting Board Small

The Poly Cutting Board gives you a solid surface to punch holes in the BioThane and prevents wear and tear on your tools.

Nylon Mallet

The Nylon Mallet is used in combination with the Drive Leather Punch to make the holes in the BioThane. Make sure to apply force from your wrist and strike calmly.
